Built by a rancher,
for ranchers.
Ranch Hero started at Grace Ranch because the mini highland market needed someone to fix it. We got tired of watching good buyers get scammed and good sellers get lumped in with bad actors.
The origin story
Grace Ranch became the proof of concept.
Mini highland cattle sell for real money — $2,000 to $8,000 per animal. And most of those transactions happen over Facebook Marketplace, personal cell numbers, and Venmo. No verification. No paper trail. Just blind trust.
We've heard every story: sellers who took deposits and vanished. Animals that arrived sick, undersized, or not even the animal in the photos. "Registration papers" that turned out to be fakes. Haulers who disappeared with the animal.
Grace Ranch built a reputation in the Hill Country by doing the opposite — full documentation on every animal, honest descriptions, responsive communication. Buyers started paying a premium for that certainty. That was the insight: trust has real monetary value in this market, and there was no infrastructure for it.
Ranch Hero is that infrastructure.
Grace Ranch
How we got here
Grace Ranch's first highland
Ryan brings home two mini highland heifers to the family property in Fredericksburg. What started as a hobby quickly becomes a passion.
A growing herd, a broken market
As Grace Ranch grows to 15 animals and starts selling calves, Ryan sees firsthand how bad the mini highland market is — fake listings, payment scams, animals nothing like the photos.
The first trusted circle
Ryan starts connecting trusted buyers with a small circle of vetted Texas ranchers he knows personally. Word spreads. Buyers start asking 'is this a Ranch Hero seller?' before buying anywhere.
Ranch Hero launches
What started as a personal vetting network becomes a platform. Ranch Hero opens to verified Texas sellers with a formal Trust Score system, vetted transport, and buyer protection.
What we stand for
These aren't marketing words. They're the decisions we make when building features and handling disputes.
Accountability over anonymity
Every seller on Ranch Hero has their identity and farm verified. There are no strangers here. If something goes wrong, there's a real person responsible.
Documentation as standard
Registration papers and vet certificates shouldn't be exceptional — they should be the baseline. Ranch Hero makes complete documentation the expectation, not the exception.
Texas first
We're building trust in one market before expanding. The Texas highland community is tight-knit and word travels fast. Getting it right here means everything.
The platform protects both sides
Good sellers get ripped off by bad buyers too — chargebacks, false disputes, animals picked up in bad faith. Ranch Hero's paper trail protects sellers as much as buyers.
